Alberta Poker Index Rules For tournaments to count towards the Alberta Poker Index they must be played in a casino in Alberta, have a buy-in of at least $225, and have at least 20 entrants.
Free-rolls do not count.
Points will be awarded for each tournament throughout the year and at the end of the year three prizes will be awarded. T
op player overall, top female player and top senior player. To qualify for the top senior player prize, players must be at least 50 years old by the end of the year.
Scoring will be applied to each tournament for each player than finishes in-the-money. Scoring will be counted by multiplying the Index place points based on where the player placed multiplied by both the buy-in multiplier and the # of players multiplier.
Team Events do count but any points awarded are split evenly amongst the team members.
Bounties are not accounted for in the calculation of points.
Points are chopped just the same as cash is chopped. Competitors are strongly encouraged to use the honour system and make sure chops are reported to the reporter, tournament director or API volunteers. If cash flows from one player to others as a result of a chop, the proportionate amount of points will also be moved from the player giving up cash to those receiving it. If two or more players do an equal chop, the points from those places will be split evenly.
